Job Description


The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for supporting the accounts payable (AP) function for multiple plant locations. This includes auditing AP work, ensuring compliance with company AP policies and procedures, and maintaining accuracy and timeliness in the processing of transactions. The role also involves auditing and entering employee expense reimbursement requests and reviewing employee credit card statements to ensure adherence to policies, proper documentation, and receipt submission.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate daily with plant personnel to ensure timely receipt, documentation, and posting of AP batches in the JD Edwards Accounting System.
  • Build and run ad-hoc queries for analysis, reporting, and resolution of unposted or on-hold batches.
  • Assist the Accounts Payable Manager or Supervisor with special projects and other duties as assigned.

About You
Requirements:
  • Associate degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years of high-volume AP experience with a focus on auditing.
  • Familiarity with Canadian payables and knowledge of PST, GST, HST, and QST rules (preferred).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly moderate to advanced Excel skills.
  • Highly self-motivated, energetic, and dependable.
  • Experience with JD Edwards or a similar large ERP AP system.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to create, refine, and improve spreadsheets.
  • Quick learner and self-starter with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Effective in both independent and team environments.
