Position Summary
This role requires experience in mortgage-related functions, including loan processing, loan purchases, or other mortgage operations, with solid knowledge of mortgage products, documentation, and data. Strong attention to detail, process orientation, clear communication, and outstanding client service support are essential. The successful candidate will interact frequently with internal teams (Underwriting, Lock Desk, Funding, IT) and external parties (loan originators, custodians, servicers, and other third-party service providers).

Responsibilities & Duties
  • Act as the daily point of contact, interacting with loan originators, secondary marketing, underwriting, loan delivery, and IT departments.
  • Understand operational policies and communicate requirements clearly and concisely to clients, managing changes as needed.
  • Manage and respond to product-related inquiries, escalating complex product/underwriting issues when necessary.
  • Coordinate with Underwriting and Lock Desk to process underwriting and product exception requests.
  • Work with Appraisal and Due Diligence vendors to process appraisal review requests within service level agreements.
  • Ensure accurate and timely loan data flow, diagnosing issues and inconsistencies in mortgage loan data quickly.
  • Facilitate the delivery of data, loan files, and collateral files to vendors supporting the loan purchase process.
  • Provide process improvement recommendations to internal technical teams to enhance conduit work systems.
  • Manage pipeline and condition follow-up for both credit and collateral documents.
  • Meet service level turn times and quality metrics by managing time and activities effectively.
  • Provide analytics and documentation to support asset acquisition and investment decisions.
  • Create and distribute various lock and operational reports.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • 1-5+ years of experience in the mortgage industry.
  • Strong knowledge of mortgage products, loan processing, junior underwriting, post-closing, and/or loan closing/funding experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Technologically savvy, with proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Experience with loan origination systems, document management, or other mortgage-related processing systems.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and manage workload independently.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and reliable follow-through.
