The Senior Accountant will report to the Accounting Manager – Reconditioning and play a key role within the RECO/NALP Accounting Team. This position will collaborate closely with the reconditioning finance team and various cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong communication skills, the ability to build trust, and the capacity to influence decision-making across multiple levels of the organization. Key Responsibilities:
Prepare month-end journal entries for inventory, capitalized freight, customer-owned drums, in-transit inventory, inventory deferral, slow-moving and obsolete inventory (SLOB), and other required entries.
Oversee inventory accounting and maintain inventory and unvouchered payables sub-ledgers.
Serve as a resource for site accountants regarding inventory-related issues.
Maintain and update standard costs, including the calculation of new standards as necessary.
Prepare schedules for balance sheet analysis.
Support FP&A deliverables, including variance analysis, forecasting, and budgeting.
Provide plant accounting support for two to three manufacturing locations.
Manage intercompany transactions and ensure proper accounting treatment.
Prepare account reconciliations as assigned.
Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and support special projects.
Assist with external audit requests and ensure compliance with reporting requirements.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the company.
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
5+ years of accounting experience, including month-end close processes.
Experience with inventory accounting and account reconciliations.
Strong proficiency in Excel (advanced skills required).
Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with large ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics SL is a plus).
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
